Corofin GAA Club have provided numerous players to various Clare teams in various age groups in both hurling and football down through the years. Martin Tierney was a member of the Clare U-21 hurling panel in 2009, when the county won its first ever U-21 hurling championship, beating Kilkenny in the final.
9 players from the club have gone on to play Senior Championship with Clare: 5 in football and 4 in hurling:
Football: Seamus Clancy, Colm Clancy, Diarmuid Daly, John Keane, Jamie Malone
The Clancy brothers, Seamus and Colm, played senior football for Clare during the late 80's and early 90's. They were both part of the historic Clare team of 1992 which beat Kerry in the Munster Final. Seamus gave a man of the match performance at corner-back, while Colm lined out at full-forward, scoring 1-1. Seamus went on to win Clare's first ever football All-Star that year. Seamus and Colm's father Donal, was also a selector on that famous Clare team.
Diarmuid Daly became the 3rd player from Corofin to play Senior Championship football for Clare, when he lined out against Waterford in 2010. Diarmuid was a regular member on the Clare senior football panel from 2007-2012.
John Keane made his championship debut for Clare when he came on as a substitute in the 2013 Munster Semi-Final, when Clare lost out to Cork in Cusack Park. John also marked his debut by scoring a point shortly after been brought on.
Jamie Malone captained the Clare minor footballers in 2012 and went on to make his senior championship debut in Clare's draw with Waterford in the Munster Championship quarter-final in Cusack Park in 2014.
Hurling: Seán O'Loughlin, Gerry Quinn, Darragh Shannon, Darragh Clancy
Seán O'Loughlin achieved the honour of being the first Corofin player to play Senior Championship hurling for Clare when he lined out against Waterford in 1992.
Gerry Quinn made his senior inter-county championship debut against Tipperary in 2000, and went on to become a regular for Clare throughout the 2000's at left wing-back. In 2002, Gerry played in the All-Ireland Hurling final where Clare lost out to Kilkenny. Gerry was also nominated for an All-Star in that year.
Darragh Shannon was a member of the Clare senior hurling panel in 2007 and made championship appearances in the qualifiers against Laois and Antrim.
Darragh Clancy was on numerous underage Clare teams in both hurling and football and so it was no great surprise when Darragh went on to play senior championship hurling for Clare in 2008 against Waterford.
